Tura is Licensed in the State of California, North Carolina and Illinois. She has over 20 years of clinical experience. She has furthered her education at California School of Professional Psychology and received a Masters in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Forensics, Child and Family. Her practicum experiences included Contra Costa County Conditional Release Program, Child Haven, Bay Area Community Resources and Head Start. She worked with agencies that provide a variety of services in the Bay Area such as HealthRight 360, Asian American Recovery Services, Family Service Agency, and Bonita House.​

 

Tura has extensive experience working with a variety of populations including children, adolescents, severely mentally ill juvenile offenders, survivors or trauma, and individuals in the correctional system including  Federal Bureau of Prisons and San Francisco Drug Court, and San Mateo County Jail.  Most recently she has worked at Behavioral Health Recovery Services in San Mateo County where she provided services to the severely mentally ill population, conducting assessments and evaluations. 

 

 Her focus is providing therapy to individuals with depression and mood disorders, anxiety, thought disorders such as schizophrenia, and trauma. Her approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  When working with children, she uses play therapy therapy techniques to help children explore their life and express their emotions and thoughts freely. She is trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to improve the parent child relationship.

Tura is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional-Level 2 and a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

 

Currently, Tura is enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration at Howard University.
